The law was given to Moses to show how sinful we can become, how much God will forgive and how much we need a Savior. Jesus fulfilled the law and when we believe in Him we receive the righteousness of God through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

The law was never to be used as a system to achieve the righteousness of God. If that were so, Jesus' death on the cross for our sin was in vain.
